    1. (Van) Meditation for Well-Being (1-Day) Retreat
      10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Bring a pot-luck lunch to share and join Brian Ruhe for this day long meditation retreat. Last month it was great! The meditations went smoothly with 15 people. This is the next in a series of monthly meditation days at this spacious, quiet meditation space. We are in the bright common room of a Co-op on the 5th floor with an outdoor deck and a serene view over False Creek.

The day will be balanced with lectures, silent walking and sitting meditation, loving kindness, some guided meditations, discussions and tea and food! We’ll have Q & A periods on aspects of Buddhism. Expect to sit for 30 – 45 minutes at a time. Beginners are welcome but they should know that the meditation times are longer than in my courses so this is more suitable for meditators with at least some experience. Bring your own cushion if you want one, a few are provided, plus plenty of chairs are there. We will practice in the Theravada Forest tradition as taught by Ajahn Sona at www.birken.ca but you are free to use your own techniques.

      COST

This retreat is by donation (dana). The retreat is offered in accord with the tradition that the dhamma teachings and practice together is considered priceless and offered freely. Donations in the donation basket are gratefully accepted to support the continuation of these retreats in the future. Dana is the Buddhist practice of extending generosity in gratitude for the teachings.
