However, where did you read that Centering Prayer includes Attention Prayer - the constant repetition of a word. Everything I have experienced or read about Centering Prayer explicitly excludes attention in the practice. For example, see page 43 of &quot;The Diversity of Centering Prayer&quot; for an explicit statement that only intention and not attention is part of Centering Prayer. There is no constant repetition of a word. In John Main&#039;s &quot;Christian Meditation&quot; practice there is a constant repetition of the word &quot;Maranatha.&quot; But this is a totally different practice from Centering Prayer.
